Lily Stan Studio: A First Glimpse at Her Second Clothing Collection

If you aren’t familiar with the name Lily Stan and you love pastels, luxurious materials, and fashion, you should get to know it — and quick.

I became pals with Lily (whose real last name is Harris) last year through social media which led to me featuring her home and studio on Design*Sponge. We’ve kept in touch ever since, so when I heard word about the launch of her second clothing collection, I emailed her right away to get the inside scoop and a first glimpse at the collection’s look-book which builds upon her first collection.

“I wanted this collection to be an attachment to the first collection,” Lily explains, “It really is a progression of what I want in my own closet, building on the pieces from the first collection.”

In this progressive collection, we see Lily introduce some black “because it is all that I want to wear these days,” she jokes, “but I still feel very attached to pastel colors, which is why I introduced lavender and what I like ton call ‘glow in the dark’.”

With her signature simple silhouettes, her clothes are a great platform for creating multiple effortless looks and are handmade to order in limited quantities out of her San Francisco studio, so you can ensure the attention to detail and quality is spot-on.

As a self-proclaimed “part tomboy, part girly girl with a serious love for humor,” creating and Art Directing look books are her favorite way to infuse some of her personality into the pieces: “I always like to keep it a little bit weird, while maintaining a bit of timelessness.”

Where her first look book introduced her family’s greyhounds, she continued celebrating her admiration for pets in the second collection’s look book by using her own pet cat, Maybe.

When asked what her hopes were for the future, Lily replied, “My hope for what is to come for Lily Stan Studio is building my basics collection with all organic fabrics that I can’t live without, which I am very excited about!” So keep a keen eye on this lovely lady in the years to come, and while you’re at it, visit her shop and have a browse through her Instagram.
