Yoga has been a big part of my life for the last 15 years.
It’s seen me through tough times, beautiful moments and mundane months. It’s been both a life saver and a passive practice, but through it all, it’s been a constant source of peace for me. And it’s finally time I take it to the next level.
This coming February and March I’ll be heading to Thailand to go through an intensive 200-hour yoga teacher training course to receive my RYT certification and I cannot wait.
The program will be taking place at Vikasa in Ko Samui (photos below), and I’ll be bookending my trip with an extra two weeks in Phuket (before the course) and Hong Kong (to cap off my trip). So if you’ve ever been to either spot, please send me your recommendations!
I still have a bunch of work to tackle before I head off (currently filming Home To Win with HGTV, and I’ll be giving a few design talks in January–most excited about speaking at the Calgary Home Show), but my trip planning has officially begun.
In the meantime, I’ve been sharing some more yoga content on my Instagram and wanted to leave you with my yoga playlist if you’re interested in starting your own practice at home (ooooooor just listen at work if you’re after a chill mix):
In closing, I’ll leave you with this thing I wrote back in 2014 which I still stand by: “Yoga is a constant progression with no real end. It doesn’t care to know your history or your past; your practice is confidential… Yoga has no deadlines, no contests, no questions. Yoga asks nothing of you and only expects that you explore what you’re ready for in that moment; it teaches you to be grateful for whatever you can do today and to forget about what you cannot.”
